Memorable Moments of 2009

This year has been a eventful to say the least. Good and bad, I have some very memorable moments that will be added to the list of stories to tell my nieces and nephew as they get older.

With so many great moments, the most memorable for me are:

1. Watching Barack Obama be sworn in as President of the United States

2. Attending my first Drupalcon

3. Visiting the pyramids in Belize

4. Quitting my job rather abruptly

5. Watching my dad walk for the first time after his accident

My lazy Labor Day weekend

I just finished cleaning the apartment and I am a bit bored so I figured "hell, why not blog." I don't write on here much, and I never seem to blog about me, so I figure let me venture from the normal "this technology is cool" post and delve into my personal life.

I was a little caught off guard this morning when I logged into Facebook to see the many status updates saying Disney bought Marvel Entertainment. I mozied on over to Google News and read about the $4 Billion deal.

I recently missed some very important occurances in the lives of a couple friends of mine. Two friends got married. Another friend who I have not seen in a year is planning a trip to DC and I will unfortunately be out of town. There seemed to be this growing trend of me missing very important things in friends' lives because we have not kept in touch as well.

Over the past three years, I have been working as a consultant in the nonprofit tech space doing online communications, tech planning, project management and all that good stuff. Google has announced a new way for you to optimize data on your site using Rich Snippets. These snippets are areas of content wrapped in tags that gives meaning to Google so that they search engine can better convey what your content is about.
